Phindy's Friday Challenge

I know I am late with this one,
well not completely late.
Just a little to close to the deadline
for me.

This week's Friday challenge at Phindy's is a shape card.  In case you don't know what a shape card it is easy.  It is a shape other then square or rectangle.  Don't confuse this with a Fancy Fold card.  A fancy fold is something other than folding the piece of paper in 1/2.  In the past I have done a fancy fold when the challenge was for a shape card.  Some will say that if it ain't square or rectangle, it would work as a shape card.  I think that is stepping over the line a bit.

So any ways, this weeks challenge is the shape card.  I have always hated shape cards.  I never knew where to fold and how to cut.  Well a friend of mine (thanks, Dawn) sent me a video working with SCAL and the Cricut and takes a basic shape and doing a "Union" on them.  Since we are so close to Valentine's Day, I would make a heart shaped card...

I used paper from my stash.  The glitter heart, cut from American Craft Glitter Paper, was previously cut for another project and I ended up not using it.  The key was sent to me in a swap.

Thanks for stopping by.

CDAC Progressive Challenge Round 10

Can you believe it's 2012!!  Can you believe it is Round 10 of Crafter's Digital Art Center's Progressive Challenge!  Well it is.

In case you haven't heard how this works...here's the details.  If you haven't done the previous round, you would need to go purchase the set.  And it price will surprise you.  You can get the current set of images for $1.  Once you have a set, you make a project with an image, blog it, use the link to  the challenge page before the dead line and you will get an invitation to a group to pick up the next round of images.

Here is the card I made.  It's a Bugaboo image.  The sentiment came about when a friend's hubby said he could live without chocolate and I said well I can't.  Then we said well women can't live without chocolate.  I saw this image and knew what the sentiment just had to be.

I used Glossy Accents for the lenses of the glasses.  Ribbon is form Pizzazz Aplenty. Everything else is from my stash.

Here's my card...

I hope you join the fun over at CDAC.
Hugs, love and prayers

Phindy's Friday Challenge

Wow here it is 19th of January and this is my first blog posting of the year.  Ooops.  So what  have been doing?  ATCs, ATCs and more ATCs.  Plus I have been working on stuff for my Secret Pal over at Paper Craft Planet.  There is a super group called "Anything Goes" and we are doing a year long Secret Pal.  We are required to send 6 cards during the year.  Many of us go beyond the 6 cards and send our Secret Pal gifts.  I haven't received anything yet.  My I have sent my Secret Pal 2 cards already.  I look forward to sharing everything with everyone who reads my blog.

Ok now for the challenge.  This is a fun one.  Tic Tac Toe ...here is a copy of the challenge...

I don't have anything to emboss with and I haven't done any distressing so that eliminated a couple of the options.  Here's the choices I had...
  • Die Cut, Flowers, Sewing
  • Die Cur, Ribbon, Lace
  • Pearls, Ribbon, Flowers
For sewing I could have done faux sewing, which I love doing but I want with the Die Cut, Ribbon and Lace.  I have some lace and I love using ribbon with it.

Here's my card...

The card stock, ribbon and heart brad are all from Michaels.  The image is from Phindy and the lace is from Pizzazz Aplenty, my favorite online embellishment store.  I used a die cut is one of Penny Duncan Creations' Shaplies.

Thanks for stopping by
