Progressive and Sketch for From the Heart

Progressive Challenge
I {heart} Sketches #7

Because I entered last month's Progressive Challenge
I received this month's image...

Now it is never to late to get in our the Progressive Challenge.
Simply buy this month's image,
enter this month's challenge
and next month you will get a new images for free.

This month's image is called
Spring Baskets.
It included several baskets..
empty, shamrocks and Easter eggs.

I used the sketch for this week's
I {heart} Sketches challenge.
This is to be a square card.

Here is what I did with the sketch and image.

I used the Basket of Shamrocks,
American glitter tape,
some digital designer paper I had,
and cut the hat out on my Cricut,
then added a bit of Golden Rod Stickles to the buckle.
I like Golden Rod over Gold as I think it gives a richer color.

CWLC #30 Mid Winter Break...Bright and Cheery

Mid-Winter Break
Bright and Cheery

This is my week to host.
What better challenge for the end of February then..
something Bright and Cheery.

Here in the states we are in the middle of winter.
How has the winter been in your neck of the woods?

This week we have another brand new sponsor

I had chosen this image not really thinking about challenge.
When I received it I thought..
Dear Lord, what was I thinking.
How is rain Bright and Cheery??
Than I noticed the sentiment that came with the image.
Yeap Rainbows are Bright and Cheery.
Then I got to thinking about the DP to use.
Yeap, rainbow colors!
So in the end I am pretty pleased with the image I picked.

I got a new punch for Christmas.
I don't own many punches but after using this Daisy boarder punch,
I want more punches!!
Under the daisy boarder I have American Craft Glitter Tape.
If you haven't used this before...
you are missing out.
It's a tape!  A strip of glitter.  Each color comes in 3 different widths.
I added a daisy from my stash.

The deadline for this challenge is
March 2, 2013,
Hope to see your project!
Remember it doesn't have to be a card.

Bestie's Challenge #6

Shades of Blue
This week's challenge you have to use 2 shades of blue...
I think I have a few more than 2.

Here is what I put together...

As usual, I added glaze black to the eyelashes
and Glossy Accents to the eyes.
I used a brad for the middle of the flower
and brushed some Stickles on it.
The upper right corner has 3

I {heart} Sketches #6

Hey it isn't Sunday!!
I so hate coming in just under the wire on my challenges.
Hubby being off 2 days during the week has thrown me.
BUT I was determined to get these challenges done early.

This is the sketch for this week...

And here is what I did with it....

I used American Craft Glitter Tape for the stripes,
added white flatback white pearls on the sweater.
The centers of the flowers are Daffodil Liquid Pearls
and the 3 embellishments are Opal White Liquid Pearls.

CWLC #29 Things that Fly

Things that Fly
This week is Lisa's turn to host
and she chose
Things that Fly
for our challenge this week.
Our sponsor this week is...

I used a new image, Celtic Raven Corner,  from Delicious Doodles,
plus one I used in a previous challenge, Purr-fect Fairy.
Both of which fly.  I blinged this up some...
The knot on the Raven is done in Eucalyptus Stickles.
I used the same color on the eyes of both the fairy and kitten
...but they came out darker because I had colored them green.
There is Cotton Candy Stickles on the fairy's nails and lips.
I played with some flowers from my stash.  I put a green metallic dot in the middle.
I sprayed it with Leapfrog Glimmer Mist,
but still wasn't happy with it.
So I painted the flower with Holly Stickles.
It still didn't look right to me...and I finally figured out why.
It needed leaves!!

Now the sentiment is something I made up...
but around here it is my dear sweet hubby,
who says "Can we keep her?"
We have 7 cats and 4 of them are a direct result of Larry saying
"Can we keep her?"
(Out of 7 cats, only one is male)
I have put my foot down and said NO MORE!!

The deadline for this challenge is
February 23, 2013,

Hope to see your project!!

Bestie's Challenge #5

So not like me...but this is the 3rd week in a row that I am getting in on the challenge at the last moment.

But here is what I did this week...
This was a free image...Belinda Bubbles
This week the challenge was to do PINK.
Well one my of favorite colors.
As always I added Glossy Accents to the eyes.
Waterfall Stickles to the bubbles
and Glam Pink Stickles to the hair band.

I Heart Sketches #5

If you take part in I {Heart} Sketches,
you get a $1 to use at their store.
I turned mine in this week and this
was one of the images I got.

And of course I used it for this week's sketch.

This is what I came up with...

I cut the circle and flowers out on my Cricut.  Added some glitter tape,
chalked the edge of the image.
and added a sentiment.

CWLC 28, Birthday with die cut and embossing

Dawn is our host this week.
She has added a twist to the Birthday Challenge...
Die Cut and Embossing.

Our sponsor this week is...
Since Crafty Emblies doesn't have Digi Stamps,
I chose Bugaboo's Stella One More Candle.

The scalloped rectangle is a die-cut done on my Cricut.
This was my second attempt at heat embossing...
obviously I still have some learning to do.
I added Stickles to the confetti and streamers.

Deadline for this challenge is...
February 16, 2013,
9:00 PM EST

Sunday, February 10, 2013

Have you stopped by and checked out these new challenges?
I usually love a sketch challenge.
This one was hard.  It had to be an A4...
which means you cut a piece of paper and fold that in half.
I don't like this size card...but I raised above it and got it done!

Here is the sketch...

Here is what I have done with it...

The ribbon on the left is American Craft Glitter Tape and comes in 3 widths.
I used a darker blue in the largest width and a lighter blue in the smallest width.
I then used my Daisy Punch and added it down the middle of the Glitter Tape.
The image is I Love You Sew Much.
The daisies in the image are two layers.
All the daisies in the image have Buttercup Liquid Pearls centers.
The lace above the image is from Micheal's and had tape on the back!  So fun to work with.
And then I added the ribbon bow with a brad.

In the end, the sketch came out better than I thought it would.

Besties #4

Wow can you believe it??
I won a set of 4 Copic Markers from
Besties Last week!!
I have always wanted to try Copics but the expense held me back.
Now if I love them...dear hubby had better up my craft allowance.

So this week I used the image
Luv U.

With this card, I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits.
I added Icicle Stickles to her hat, cuffs and boot tops.
As always with Besties images, I did the eyelashes with a Glaze pen and Glossy Accents to her eyes.
I added pink Liquid Pearls to the dots on her hat and skirt
and Thistle Stickles to the roses on her skirt and boots.

I enjoy Sherri's Besties images.
Can I win 2 weeks in a row?

CWLC #27 Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day

It is my turn to host the challenge.
And with Valentine's Day just 10 days away,
I figured it would be the prefect time for
a Valentine's Day challenge.

Our sponsor this week is...

I chose Bugaboo's Sock Monkey/February/Valentine's
for a reason.
My 7 month old granddaughter lights up when she sees a monkey.
Any monkey.
So Granny is crocheting Kylie a
Sock Monkey blanket and Sock Monkey!!

Here is my card...

I did the monkey in the same colors as the blanket and Sock Monkey
I added Kylie's name to the card.
The circle and scalloped circle are cut on my Cricut.
I used foam dots to layer the monkey up some.

I am hoping Kylie enjoys these for years to come.

Remember the deadline for entering the challenge is
February 9, 2013,

Besties Challenge Card 2

This is the second card I made...
After not liking the first

I used softer colors from the
K&Company Paper Pad.

I have done the heart on the head band and shorts
with Christmas Red Stickles.
The hair band is with Cotton Candy
and the flowers on the shirt and socks are the Glam Pink Stickles.
The faux stitches are with the Petal Pink Liquid Pearls
and the center of the flower is Daffodil Liquid Pearls
and the dots on the shirt are Ruby Liquid Pearls.

Of the 2 cards...this one is my favorite.

I have also entered this card in

Bestie's Challenge First Card

This is the first of two cards for

The images are the same.  The layouts are the same.
A lot of the elements are a little different.
This card I didn't like at all and decided to
Bet we all have been there
and done that.

Then I looked over this card again...
and a friend (hi Dawn)
said it didn't look as bad as I was making it out to be.

Well I already had the image colored again.
So I though...
why not do it way I felt it needed to be done
and still put up this one.

Now if you  haven't been to Besties Challenge...
you are really missing out.
So far there have been several freebies,
but this was not one of them.
I saw this image and FELL head over heels for it.
All of the images have this Big Head
and wonderful eyes.
Here is the card...I didn't first.

With this one...I went with bright colors.
The papers are from my new pad of
K&Company Valentines Pad.
The paper is 2 sided...which I LOVE  in a pad of paper.
The flower is also from this pad and then sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist
and a drop of Daffodil Liquid Pearls in the center.
I cut the flower on my Cricut.
The shaft of the arrows are Silver Liquid Pearls
and the hearts are Ruby Liquid Pearls.
The dots on the shirt are Ruby Liquid Pearls.
The head band, heart on the shorts have Christmas Red Stickles.
The hair band has Glam Pink Stickles.
And the flowers on the shirt and socks have Icicle Stickles.

The Challenge at
ends hurry.

This card has also be entered in...
Crafter's Digital Art Center
Anything Goes.
