I {heart} Sketches #3

It's another week at

In case you haven't heard...
From the Heart
now does a weekly
sketch challenge.

This is week 3.

For this challenge I used Spring Kaela.

I colored the Kaela with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits.
The papers come from my stash.
I chalked the edge of the image with 3 different color green chalks.
I added the rhinestones that I found while searching my stash.
The polka dots on Kaela's dress are Opal White Liquid Pearls and
the centers of the flowers are Daffodil Liquid Pearls.
On the bow I added Eucalyptus Stickles.

Be sure to stop over at

I also entered this in

Heart Shaped Box

I recently put this heart shaped box together.

It was a challenge to put it together.
This was cut on my Cricut using a file from

I had to glue a little bit at a time and let it dry...then glue more.
In the end, I am really happy with this and do plan to make more.

CWLC #26 Baby Shower

#26
Baby Shower

This week is Lisa's turn to host the challenge.
 And she as chosen...Baby Shower.

Our sponsor this week is new to us...

This is MelJen's Little Pull Duck...

I added Liquid Pearls to the lines and dots that were in the image.
The DP has the symbols for boy and girl.
The ribbon was from my stash and I did a simple sentiment.

Deadline for this challenge is...
February 2, 2013, 9:00 PM EST.

I have also entered this in
Crafter's Digital Art Center's
Anything Goes.

CDAC Seasonal Challenge

Last card for now....
This is for CDAC
Crafter's Digital Art Center's

For this card you must use a digital stamp,
and it is seasonal...
What is the weather in your neck of the wood?
Is it a holiday time?

Here is the card I came up with for this challenge.

The image is called First Snow...
other then the letters SSDFFF I have no idea who the artist is.
I so wish all artists would put their names in the title.
Since we got snow Friday, this seemed like the prefect image.
The snow flakes are White Opal Liquid Pearls.
The snow at her feet are Frosted Lace Stickles.

Be sure to check out this challenge.

CDAC Inspiration Challenge

(Crafter's Digital Art Center)
has several new challenges.

Using this picture...

You are to come up with a card, using a digital stamp.

Here is my card...

I took the papers from my stash that came the closest to the colors in the inspirational photo.
I had this Half Daisy from Wax Fruit Company.

Originally I had only done this as the half daisy.
But when I put it on the card, it looked washed out with the colors of the paper.
So I flip-flopped the image and made the other half in the blue colors.
I added the daisies across the top and bottom from a punch I got as a gift.
The top daisies have Baby Blue and Royal blue Liquid Pearls.
The bottom daisies have Daffodil and Pumpkin Liquid Pearls.

Be sure to check this challenge out.

One card...three challenges

In an attempt to cover a couple of challenges at once,
I have this first card.
Now if you know me...
You know...
4 challenges for one card is about my limit.
This card is for the following challenges...
This challenge is
1 flower
2 designer papers
3 embellishments
using any Besties Image...
I have used Teacup Tilly
And
use any image from any off the SSS artists.

For this card,
I used  2 digital designer papers I found online..
sorry don't recall where.
I colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils.
As I do with most eyes lately, I added Glossy Accents.
I started this with my first Besties' image...
those eyes just seemed to be special and needed something different.
Glossy Accents works great.
I added
White Opal Liquid Pearls to the polka dots on the bows,
Petal Pink Liquid Pearls to the teacup,
Daffodil Liquid Pearls to the center of the flower,
and Royal Blue Liquid Pearls to the buttons.
The flower I cut on my Cricut.
Finally I added the bling in the other corners.

Be sure to check these challenges out.

Decorating the Front Door for Valentine's Day

Since we have 6 cats,
decorations in the house don't live long.

So I decorate my front door.

Valentine's Day is around the corner and
I got busy with these sweet Candy Bear Cherubs.

This is also a file from

This is the top portion of the door.

And this is the bottom portion of the door.

I have entered this in

 Be sure to check back...
there is still time for Granny to do something more
for Valentines Day.

Lollipop Garden

It's getting to be Valentine's Day.

Another holiday of gift giving.
Around here gifts are hand crafted.

This is the Lollipop Garden
and I made 9 of them.
Why nine?
TJ-son
Lisa-daughter-in-law
Kylie-granddaughter (who is a bit to young for lollipops but it can be re-used)
Katie-step daughter
Mike-stepdaughter's boyfriend
Kelly-daughter
Shane-daughter's boyfriend
Kevin-step son
and the biggest kid of them all..
Larry-my hubby.

This is a file from SVG Cuts and was cut on my Cricut.
I love these!!

I did them in different colors...the guys are all blue.
Kelly and Kylie's are pink.
Katie's is red...her favorite color.
And Lisa's is purple.
The ribbons match the color of the box in the garden that holds the lollipops.

Such a fun project...but I am glad they are done.

Be sure to check back...
you never know what Granny is gonna make next.  :)

With the sketch challenge,
at the end of the challenge,
you will be given $1 that can be used at
You can use this as a discount
or save them and use for free images.

Here is this week's sketch...

For this card, I colored the images with
my Prismacolor pencils and OMS.
I cut them out and layered them...so they had some depth to them.
I used my Cricut to cut the circle and bumpy boarder.
Using some DP from my stash,
I layered it up as shown in the sketch.
I added some Cherry Glitter Tape from American Craft
(which I love!)
and added a pearl heart.
The top cupcake has Christmas Red Stickles and Rouge Liquid Pearls on it.
On the middle cupcake, I used Yellow Stickles and Daffodil Liquid Pearls.
And on the bottom cupcake, I have added a little Cotton Candy Stickles to the hear.
I cut the sentiment that came with the Cupcake Line up image,
and then traced it with my black Sakura Glaze Pen
(I have all the pens but black seems to be the only one what ever works).

I want to thank Faith and her wonder DT for all the inspiration and GREAT images.

This card has also been entered in  CDAC Anything Goes Challenge

CWLC #25 Anything Goes

She chose the ever popular
Anything Goes.

 I used 2 of Digi Darla's images
Grandma Dancing
and Grandpa Dancing.

In Word, I flipped Grandpa Dancing around.
I could not for the life of me come up with a sentiment for this one.
I added some American Craft Glitter Tape to the top and bottom
as well as some red and clear heart shaped rhinestones.

The deadline on this challenge is
January 26, 2013
9:00 PM EST.

If you enter your project in more than 10 challenges, it will be removed from the challenge.

CDAC Progressive Challenge is Back!!

is once again having their Progressive Challenge.

To start everyone off they have a free image from
Shelly's Images.
By accepting the image, you are promising to end the challenge..
only seems fair, right?

This image is adorable and it came with the sentiment.
I used my Prismacolor pencils and OMS to color the image.
I chalked the edges of the sentiment with my Cat Eyes chalk...Cranberry.
I added American Craft Glitter Tape to the top and bottom.
Then put Ruby Red Liquid Pearls in the corners of the sentiment and image.
I put Christmas Red Stickles along the end of the heart.
I added the flatback pearl hearts.
The feathers of the wings needed something
...but for the life of me I can't figure out what.
I ended up putting a light coating of Diamond Stickles on them.

Besties Challenge

OMG!!!
Thanks to a design team member on
Created with Love Challenges...
I found the CUTEST images
AND they are have a challenge,
This challenge ends tomorrow...so hurry!

They even had a freebie to get you started!!
And they are having a big release party today

For this card I used the freebie,

I love these big eyes.
And knew they needed something special.
Now I have always used Glossy Accents when I have
an image that is wearing glasses.
I didn't know how it would look on eyes...
it was going to be
either love it or hate it.
Thankfully, I love it.  I think it just what the eyes needed.
I also did the Glossy Accents on the Penguins' eyes.
Penny and girl penguin's eyelashes
have Sakura Glaze Black outlines to make them stand out.
I added Baby Blue Liquid Pearls to the dots on Penny's dress.
I added Christmas Red Stickles to the holly berries
and Crystal Stickles to the collar of Penny's dress.
I cut the flowers and leaves out on my Cricut.
Added Spring Rain Glimmer Mist to them...
then used my ATG Gun to make them 2 sided...with both the plain and  DP
(oh and the DP was printed from a paper file I found somewhere along the way).
On the male penguin's hat I used a gold gel pen for the buckle
and Frosted Lace Stickles on the hat.

Besties Challenges first challenge ends tomorrow...so hurry.

CWLC #24 Critter Fun

Welcome to another challenge

at

Created with Love Challenges

This week's sponsor is our very own Linda
at

The prize is a stamp set.

It's my week to host.
You can make any project you like...
only requirement is you must use a
Critter.
Any critter...
Cat, dog, bird, bear, pig, etc.

Here is what I put together for this challenge...
I used the image Entwined Love
from
Phindy's Place.
This was my first attempted at heat embossing.
I shouldn't have had the gun so close to the paper
and should have chosen another paper or placed the sentiment somewhere
where it wouldn't have been so hard to see....
Always learning.

Now remember you have till
January 19, 2013,
9 PM EST
to get your project in.

Please note,
if you enter more than 10 challenges
with your project,
your entry will be removed from the challenge.

Hope to see your project.

Delightful 2 Design's Tweet Birthday Gift

It has been a while since
has done their Progressive Challenge...
but it is back!!!

Oh how I have missed it.

Now here is the 411 on this challenge.

To get in now you have to buy
current image,
Tweet Birthday Gift.

Enter the challenge before
January 29, 2013,
11:59 PM EST,
and you will be sent the next image...
FOR FREE!!

This is such a cute image.
Here is what I came up with...

I used the current MoJo Monday
sketch.
There is American Craft Glitter tape under the light blue ribbon.
The daisy was part of a Christmas gift package I got from a friend.
Looking at it now...the one strip of paper...light blue patterned paper
next to the dark blue strip should have been a different color or pattern,
It doesn't stand out much.  :(
Always learning!!

Thanks for stopping by...see ya'll soon.

Anything but a Card

Our first challenge of the New Year.
I enjoyed our holiday vacation
but I was so ready to get into my
craft room.

While on vacation,
we made a few changes to the rules.

We only allow
you to enter your project in 10 challenges,
which isn't new.
BUT what is new...
we will remove your project from the challenge
if you have entered more then 10.

Additionally
we are changing the deadline on our challenges.
We are moving it to the Saturday after the challenge starts.

This will allow us to post the winner
on Monday with our new challenge.

Ok...now for the challenge.
This is Lisa's week to host the challenge.
Anything but a Card.

Our host this week is..

The winner will win a $10 Gift Certificate.

I used the image 'Maggie with a birdhouse'
and made
a calendar I can put in my purse.

I used book stock...it is chirp board that is as thick as a book cover.
I wrapped it in designer paper I got from Micheal's.
I laid ribbon under the inside paper so I can tie the book shut.
I then made calendar pages in Word.
Since this is going be carried in my purse,
I wanted the cover to be simple.
I used a punch I got for Christmas
and made the daisy boarder.
Then added the image.

Now remember our deadline has changed  to
Saturday at 9 PM EST
